A couple of things before breakfast with the White Queen at Milleways
Well, Aubrey placed me in the line up of those who should confess all, well 8 things anyway. Here we go, in no particular order:
- I believe Arthur Dent, from the Hitch Hikers' Guide to the Galaxy, was given the middle name Philip after I wrote a letter to Douglas regarding a sound used in the original radio version.
- I have performed on the stage of the Albert Hall in a number of productions, (no, not professional but I wanted to include something glamorous).
- I live in the cottage my Grandmother and Mother were born in.
- I have attended evening classes to learn some Greek and Japanese, for a couple of terms both classes in the same weeks.
- In over 300 years the main line of my paternal family has moved no more than 10 miles.
- I dream of one day retiring to Greece.
- I live behind a big house with a tall pyramidical water tower on the far side of it, that rises above roof level. I can see the top 10 feet of the triangular tower from my window. The road to the big house was up the side of the school I attended between 4 and 11 years old. The teachers warned us to within an inch of our lives not to go wandering up that road, (there were camoflage net factories at the end of the road) and they did a pretty good job of it. It was on my 39th birthday that I first walked up the road and saw the water tower that stands in front of the building I live behind.
- I am a frustrated photographer/writer.
Nothing exciting there but stuff new to my neighbourhood.
Well, that was actually harder than I thought. Thank you Aubrey for volunteering me, I think.
I am tagging:

Apologies if someone has already taken part and I missed it, also sorry to people I haven't picked; I tried to go with the first 8 people I subscribed in an effort to be fair. [This is voluntary folks, so no recriminations if you don't care to partake].
As an added extra, anyone care to make the link between the two things mentioned in the title of this post?

I would be only too happy to do 6 impossible things, if the reward was breakfast with someone as interesting as you Aubrey :-)
Greece is so beautiful. I want to at least visit. I've seen pics in the book Cats in the Sun - a sad state of affairs for the cats but what a stunning place!! And the food.......mmmmmm!
Maybe when you're there you will find your photographic "flow".
I have the eye for photgraphy but I seriously lack the drive needed to be a pro' or even semi-professional. I fear that I will never be rich, money tends to flow between my fingers but that's another story.
I really admire the photography you have on your pages Maya and I have no doubt you would enjoy Greece on many levels.
Even the most visited locations have charms aplenty. A lot of people think that Corfu is a tired party island but that is not the case. The wildlife and sort of quiet places loved by Gerald Durrell can still be found, I have a friend with a taverna and website that promotes the better side of tourism based around Corfu and Paxos http://www.agni.gr.
He also lets some amazing properties through his holiday business - I get nothing from mentioning any of this by the way :-)
